What is going on with boru server? My site most of the time loads slowly... I did a test (using this tool --> http://www.websitepulse.com/help/testtools.website-test.html) and I got a server response time around 3 seconds. I performed the test several times and I got times up to 6.5 secs sometimes.

Google Webmaster Tools also confirm the issue. The bot downloaded site's pages much quicker before the server's upgrade (http://x10hosting.com/forums/news-announcements/153902-free-hosting-update.html#post802110), but after it times increased dramatically.

And of course the whole change is obvious when the site is accessed via a web browser. Definitely the site was loading instantly before the server upgrades. Since April 17th, the last two weeks, there were times that the site was inaccessible due to MySQL connection or other issues and of course as I mentioned slower than when I first putted online.

So, what is going on?

Page is down again now!

Database Error: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.
I would appreciate any info on this situation!

It's only a few hours since my previous post and normally I wouldn't post again so soon, but I did some digging and there are several threads describing the same problems and they are all unanswered or the given answers aren't specific.

For instance:

http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/155314-website-loading-time.html
http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-h...arily-unavailable-please-try-again-later.html
http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/155290-site-slow.html
http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/155303-boru-sql-load-times.html
http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/155303-boru-sql-load-times.html
http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/155301-my-website-always-shut-down.html

As I said confirmed the issue measuring server's response time, checked Google Webmaster Tools and experienced the slow page loading myself (the difference is huge before and after the migration) so there is definitely something going on... And I'm not the only one who reported this kind of problems.

I think that it is safe to assume that these issues have something to do with servers migration and upgrade. But updates on the upgrade process stopped two weeks ago and since then we are left completely in the dark!!! No more status updates...

So what is going on? I can understand that an upgrade process can be accompanied by unexpected problems, but I can't understand this silence!!!

Any information on the situation would be highly appreciated! Thank you very much for your attention!

I'm pretty sure there is still work being done on the servers, currently. This is probably true if it seems fast one moment and slow the next, or going down for a few minutes at a time.

Thanks for the answer!

Pass my request (which I believe represents many other users too) to the administrators for more updates on the servers upgrade process.

Their last update indicated that they had figured out the cause of the issues on the web servers (http://x10hosting.com/forums/news-announcements/153902-free-hosting-update.html#post802110) and they were about to complete hardware swap and move web servers over.

But unfortunately the issues still going on and make me wonder if they encountered new problems or if they are about to finish. It would be great to hear what is going on and if the upgrade is close to the end.

Load is high on the server, I'm seeing what I can turn up from here.

My guess is there may be some backed-up terminations that weren't being processed during the move; if those are running now, those do tend to be a bit intensive while they clear out the data.

Thank you very much for your immediate answer!

It wouldn't hurt if there were more updates on servers status. It would prevent many questions in the support category.

Let's hope things will get better soon!

Well so far the load is down 1 point to 9, but that's not helping enough XD

Although what it took to get there was 3 warez sites, 2 hacking sites, and 1 russian porn site sadly. My guess is there's something behind-the-scenes that's doing server maintainence still, it's unusual for sites to have the load up that much on their own.

There is something going on. That's for sure!

Anyway let's wait for an official word or till the problem is solved.

Thanks again for the info!!!

Hi!

Site is down again:
The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later.
and generally when up the response time is slow and sometimes really, really slow (response times over 20 seconds!!!)!

According to the last update (http://x10hosting.com/forums/news-announcements/155427-more-updates-2.html#post809286):

For now this is the last of the updates for Boru, Chopin, and Starka besides some minor maintenance to catch up on that was put on hold. Stoli has to be moved to the SSD setup still however, time frame will depend on when the transition to the SAN finishes.

server updates have finished for Boru, so what is slowing it down?

Are administrators aware of the issue?

And a last word... Even when site is up there is no use of it. Site load times are evaluated for the PageRank and with so slow times I guess there is a severe impact on it! And of course besides PageRank, visitors experience would be at least unpleasant. I would like to start promoting my site but with the response times of the last three weeks (I have experienced normal load times only the two - three first days since I uploaded my site) I don't think it is OK to do it yet!!

Site is down again. These two following messages appear alternately, when I try to access the site:

Database Error: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.

or

The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later.

The phenomenon is daily! Any news on servers maintenance? And if there is still maintenance going on why there aren't any new posts for Boru at News and Announcements forum?

Site is down again! Same time, same issue!

This is getting ridiculous... I can't understand why there is no any information about the problem. So many topics about it and not a single answer! I don't blame people who offer support in this forum, because I guess that they don't answer 'cause they don't know what is going on with the server. But please contact admins about it! Or should we contact admins ourselves?

---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:22 PM ----------

Site is down again now, which is not the "programmed" time!

I PMed one of the administrators, but I didn't get a response. Neither the threads related to the issue have any answers.

I can't get the reason of this silence!!! Please someone keep us informed!

Database Error: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.

Here we go! Site is down again. The server follows its daily routine without exceptions!

But it appears that our support requests are invisible!

I PMed one of the admins yesterday but I didn't get any response... Please forward this topic (and the others related to the issue) to the admins. You do it for other issues. Please do it for this too!!

I just want an official answer even if it is that administrators don't care about the problem and will let it be. Even that would be better than ignoring us!!!

Site is down now, redirecting to defaultwebpage.cgi

I flushed DNS and browser's cache repeatedly, but the problem persists for hours now.

I checked for announcements about Boru server, but there aren't any new. So, what is going?
