I am on Widows 8.1 been on it 12 months

I am having problems with my browsers settings Chrome – Firefox – IE 11 Plus X10Hostings.
I have a web site which I have done some major changes to, but when I go to check the new site on the web, it is the old one there.
I went back and removed the site altogether but all browsers still find it there. I have cleared browser cache on all three browsers.
1) I have a web site on the free space that comes with my broadband.
2) I have used all the space allotted to me
3) I built another site on X10Hostings
4) Put a short cut to it on my home page, of the first site
5) It is the second site, which is not changing, when I click the short cut.
6) But if I copy the short cut off my home page and paste it into the bowser it works, it goes to the new area on all 3 browsers.

Any Ideas

Any Ideas

URLs of both sites would be a nice start.

Using Cloudflare?

And 99% of the time it is a caching problem. Either your browser or your ISP (yes, they cache too...saves them bandwidth).

Digging a bit...

1) Frames are horrible
2) See #1
3) See #1 and #2
4) Check your links. Where do you want to go vvvvvvvv.10.bz or vvvvvvvvvvvvv.x10.mx ... looks like you have several x10 subdomains.

Hi Descalzo
Using Cloudflare? No
Your question 4 just one oralhistory.x10.bz
“Looks like you have several x10 subdomains” what happen is I signed up for a oralhistory.x10.mx site, but I had lost the bit of paper with all the details on, and I could find
no way of changing it or finding out what they were.
So I signed up for a bz site which is the one I am having trouble with.

Think I have found part of the answer?
I used my wife’s laptop on Wifi it made it a bit slower, I got my first web site up OK then I when to go into the extension the 10.bz but it loaded the 10.mx site it stead
even through it said bz on the short cut. But if you copy that same short cut off the home page and paste it into a browser it will load the bz site the one I want.
Plus today I tried another computer I have not been on before, and it showed the old site, the same as my wife laptop
Plus I do not know if the forum is attached to the mx or the bz may be none of them
What do you think?

Go to www.oralhistory.co.uk

Put your cursor over the link below A NEW EXTENSION SITE and look at the status bar of your browser to see where the link actually points ...

Alternatively, look at the source of the page homepage.ntlworld.com/d.wood73/oralhistory and see the src for the link ....

It is pointing to www.oralhistory.x10.mx ... the wrong site.

Hi Descalzo

Yes I can see that, but why, if you copy the same short cut to a browser it will go to the bz site

We have done it

I went into my copy of the first web site’s home page [.co.uk] in Frontpage then into HTML and found this now
<p class="MsoNormal" align="center" style="word-spacing: 0; line-height: 100%; margin: 0"><b><a href="http://oralhistory.x10.bz"><font size="4">http://www.oralhistory.x10.bz</font></a></b></p>

You notice that http://oralhistory.x10.bz appears twice but the first time I looked, after your last posting it was not like that, one read mx and the other bz that is why if you copied and pasted the short cut it worked, but not from the site.

Now thinking back, I put the mx site up to try it to see if it worked and it did. But when I tried to put the upgraded extension I could not find the details so I signed in again [see earlier posting] then change the short cut to the new address bz.

That is when the problems started I can’t remember if I changed the whole short cut or just the extension. This time I deleted all, saved the page and then typed in the bz short cut then saved the page, and it worked.

Thanks a lot mate for your help.
