What is the best way to go about developing multiple individual sites with their own registered domain names?

Should I create sub-domains within my x10 account and then point the registered domains to those sub-domains, or can I just make sub-directories and point the new domains to the proper directory?

Is there more than one way to do this?
What is the best way to maintain individual distinct sites "under one roof?"
These sites won't necessarily have different administrators, but it would be a plus to have that possibility in the future if needed.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Setting up your own domains as [ Add-on ] would be the best way for this

For "How to..." see --> http://realhandydata.info/wiki/index.php/How_to_Use_Your_Own_Domain

For "How many in your account..." see --> http://x10hosting.com/wiki/Plan_comparison
