Can you help me? PHP question

Well, the problem is with a plugin for Wordpress, "NextGEN Gallery" (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery/). I have installed it without any issue, but when i want to upload a picture it says me the next:

You do not have the GD Library installed. This class requires the GD library to function properly. visit http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.image.php for more information

And that's what i can see at the "main" page of the gallery plugin:

Is possible to make that plugin work properly? I need a PHP upgrade?

You will probably need to upgrade your PHP package to Intermediate. ( You currently have basic )

Thanks, ill asked to have a PHP upgrade because a posting error with fOpen(), anyway...

even i had such wierd problems before
do upgrade and alll htose prob. will vanish
