Cannot connect to MySQL server

Hi,

I've never had any issues before with MySQL, but this morning I've been getting the error:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

Using the phpMyAdmin frontend is fine but my PHP driven website spits out this connection error.

I've done a quick search for this issue on here and it would appear this is just a temporary error - could someone possibly confirm that it is indeed temporary and give me an idea when this is likely to be resolved?

yes i guess it is temporary error, i got it today too, but it has been gone after a while and now my site working fine
