I am having the same problem that Sophie had on 7/18/2008 (see message below). I used to be able to copy files but am no longer able to do so and am receiving the message, "The Finder canot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)

Earlier message from Sophie below:

Re: I need your help
files were created with iWeb... I successfully did it several times before and actually the files that are saved on my desktop are not empty... only when I try to paste them onto my webdisk, only the folder structure and zero kb index files are being created then it stops and following error message is displayed..???

once again, I was first capable of properly downloading files onto my webdisk and website was once properly available online.
Thanks for any help you can provide to fix this

I do not recommend using web disks to upload files, I'd recommend you use FTP or cPanel File Manager.

Scott,
Thank you for your reply. I am having difficulty with FTP and cPanel File Manager. I am trying to copy a directory which has multiple subdirectories to public_html. When I perform FTP, the directory structure does not mirror the original directory. When I use cPanel File Manager, it is requesting to copy files. I cannot seem to copy directories. I have even tried to download Classic FTP for the Mac and I am getting numerous prompts for file overwrites even though I am putting it in a new directory.

WebDisk had worked beautifully in the past. (I believe it was May 2008 when I last used it). I do try and do my homework before posting anything unnecessary or redundant.

Please advise on how I should transfer my files to public_html.
