Cannot enable CloudFlare with C-Panel or CloudFlare website

I contacted CloudFlare support and received this reply:
Going through our system again, though unable to find the zone. In this case please contact the hosting provider, as they control their own platform and setup process, so perhaps something went wrong on their end and they will need to take a closer look.

In C-panel, I click on CloudFlare and then the gray cloud to activate:
Error response: CloudFlare is already activated for "x10host.com" under a different account. If you want to enable CloudFlare through this partner, please log in to your CloudFlare account and choose "Disconnect" on your CloudFlare DNS Settings page.
I clicked on the Cloudflare link and signed up thinking I could disconnect from there.

I logged in and was taken to the "Add your first website" page.
I entered the info and received the following error:
ERROR
x10host.com has already been signed up with CloudFlare via the partner x10Hosting. To continue signing up directly with us, you must first de-activate your website from CloudFlare via this hosting company. If you need further assistance please contact support.cloudflare.
The WEBSITES and DASHBOARDS links take me back to the "Add your first website" page.

I have tried everything I can think of, read 100's of posts and searched for days hoping to find a solution to my problem.
I'm stuck in the mud and I need some help please.

are you using your own domain name? or a free subdomain provided by x10hosting?

I'm using free x10host.
My C-Panel shows "talking2otis.x10host" but there is "No sub-domain configured".
I tried at one point to add a sub-domain in the hopes of getting this straightened out, but I got an error and I don't remember what the error was.
Since my page loads with no problems, I thought everything was fine.
