Cannot run joomla 1.5.x

First of all, thank you for creating my account
Now my problem is that I need to install Joomla and I having some problems.

I cannot setup my ftp settings in the joomla installation
This is the error I get:

Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid.

I already went to my account settings to upgrade php version but I get this:

An Error Has Occurred
An error occurred with your PHP version change request. Try again later or contact x10Hosting. (Code 4)

Also, if I force the ftp settings, I get a "500 Internal Server Error"

On visiting your site it looks like you have Joomla installed successfully.

I'm confirming this also.

the site is running; however, I cannot install new components.

I already contacted support and they are going to upgrade my php version in order for joomla to function properly.
