Cannot use FTP

Everytime I try to login my FTP client (Filezilla), the following messages are displayed -

Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known".
Error: Could not connect to server

Needless to say that the connection fails.

By the way, I am sure that I have got my username and password okay.

So can anyone please tell me what is wrong?

And also, what does this "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known" mean?

Could you please post what connection information you are using (host, port, mode, any encryption method, and username, do NOT provide the password)?
