can't access account settings

after I've logged in, and i click on 'account settings' it asks me to log in again, (and keeps doing so) and won't let me access the account settings. Is this a known bug or is there something wrong at my end?

Try clearing your browser cache .. if it didn't work, try another browser.

Another possibility is to make sure you have enabled cookies.

Have thought of that, and have tried it in firefox and chromium (win), checked, and cookies were already enabled by default.
weird. any other suggestions?
