Any reason that I can't add a simple <form> element to a wordpress file? Whenever I try to save a file with a form element in it I get a 404 warning.

about it and have come across this thread which is two weeks old and not answered on the same question as mine:

and within that thread is a link to a post from as far back as May of 2015.
Obviously this is a known issue, not sure how I have to get it sorted out.
Think there should be something posted about this if it is a known issue with the free accounts for nearly a year.
Help would be appreciated.
