can't find my website online after i created it

i have gone through and created the website, but now I cannot find it on the web. I tried putting in key words like Stadium Village Books but it does not bring me to that web page. The only way I can the web page is to paste the exact URL into the web. Shouldn't people be able to search like in google and type in our store name and find us now that we have this web page. I also tried putting key words into yahoo, mozilla, etc. and again nothing is found. please let me know. thank you.

Have you submitted your site to search engines? If not you should, visit www.google.com/webmasters to start.

Even if you submit your site to google miracles don't happen. Don't expect your site to be #1 for any keywords especially if its less then a month old. It takes time and patience to get a number one ranking.

It will take a while before your site can be found on the search engine. This is because the search engines need to visit you site and 'index' it.
It can take anywhere from a few weeks to many months before you are listed in the search engines.

Use sitemaps, have clear organization, and keep in touch with the google websmater reports to make sure that your website is doing fine.
