Can't "Register_Globals = off"

Working on installing Webcalendar to try a few things out for the future site but in the installation it said i needed to turn the globals off. How can i do this? I went to the PHP variables section and typed it in but it wouldn't take affect.

The Free servers all have register_globals set to OFF.

That's strange. because, i keep getting an error with "[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Safe Mode Allowed Vars (required only if Safe Mode is On)" [/FONT]

Look at the next line. It shows Register Globals set to OFF. I have no idea what they are talking about.

But if you look at the top of that page, you already have a problem because the script uses deprecated functions. The script is 4+ years old.
