I just uploaded an html file to the public_html folder.

When I go to the website, I still see the orginal welcome message ("index" in the public_html folder) and not the one I uploaded ("latest")

Can you explain how x10hosting decides which page to display?

By default, unless you add a DirectoryIndex line to a new .htaccess file, the x10hosting server setup serves these pages in this order: index.html, index.htm, index.php

If no files by these names are found it'll try to list all the files in the directory (an option called indexes); by default that's disabled so it'll throw a 403 forbidden for being unable to view it.

Right now, since it's finding index.html right away, it displays that page. If you want it to show latest by default, you can either remove index.html and rename latest.html to index.html, or you can make a new .htaccess file via the File Manager and add the line "DirectoryIndex latest.html" and it will instead only serve the latest.html page.
