Identity: ysm79@homeownersleague.com (Default Identity)
To: me@homeownersleague.com
Subject & body: test

Sorry, I mistakenly closed my previous thread, problem not solved yet. So I posted a new one here.

To Admin: You did something and said "It should be fixed" but I still get the same error, see my hint below.

Still get the error:

When I use horde web access client: I got the error:

There was an error sending your message: Failed to send data [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 503, response: All RCPT commands were rejected with this error: Sender verify failed Valid RCPT command must precede DATA)]

When I use SqurrielMail, I got the following messenger:

Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Server replied: 550 Verification failed for <ysm79@homeownersleague.com>
No Such User Here
Sender verify failed

Note I am using my own domain (from Yahoo), the only thing I did was to set the name servers. I didn't set any cname or mx records there. Is this error because of I am missing anything there. -- Just a clue for you to fix the issue

Thanks. Waiting for reply.

You guys are awesome!

Corey

Hi thank you very much for your quick reply.

I changed my from address to me@homeownersleague.com, it worked!

However, when I set up a email client manually, I did the following and it didn't work

My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming server: mail.homeownersleague.com Port: 110
(Uncheck) This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Log on using Clear text authentication
Login ID (if different from email address):
me
Outgoing Server Information
Outgoing server: mail.homeownersleague.com Port: 25
(uncheck) This server require a secure connection (SSL)
(check) My outgoing server requires authentication

When I send an email using my client, I got a pop up:

Please enter your user name and password for the following server:
Server: mail.homeownersleague.com
UserName: me
Password: (my password set for email account me@homeownersleague.com)

Is the above account incorrect? (Should it be my cPanal account)

Please try if you can fix this issue for me

Thanks again.
Edit:
By the way,

What's my SMTP's username and password (Is that my cPanel's credential or my me@homeownersleague.com credential, or something else)

Thanks.

Still not working, got the following error:

The host 'mail.homeownersleague.com ' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Subject 'test at 3:12'
Server: 'mail.homeownersleague.com '
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 11001

Besides, my phpBB3's sendEmail feature is not working as well, the following is my smtp settings in phpBB:

User SMTP server for email: Yes
SMTP server address: mail.homeownersleague.com
SMTP server port: 25
Authentication method for SMTP: Plain
SMTP username: me@homeownersleague.com
SMTP password: (my password for the me@.. email account)

Where I am wrong. Thanks
P.S. Thank you for your quick support.
Edit:
I found the answers -> do NOT set to use SMTP server in phpBB. Use the mail function. Bingo.
