Can't x10hosting change its policy a little, for some other countries?

I am a user from Iran, but I am not going to use this service in harms way. I do not want to harm anyone. I don't like proxies, illegal content, pornography and any other 'bad' stuff. I am just an average guy who wants to have a personal website. Why doesn't x10hosting devise a system which could recognize its friends from those who want to use it in some unlawful ways? You can not imagine how much I like to be a member of x10hosting, and to respect its policies.

We just did change our policy -- we added quite a few countries to our whitelist. For Iran specifically there is nothing we can do; there are US sanctions against Iran and we would either have to jump through way too many hoops in order to be able to ensure only "legitimate" Iranian users are able to sign up and host a site or risk being in violation of US law.

Yea, and who knows what might happen when one tries to jump through way too many hoops? You might end up with a broken skull or something like that, and that's not what everyone wants. :)
But I have an idea, how about monitoring all the webmasters who are from blacklisted countries? And let those who are respecting the policies be happy in the yard of x10hosting for god's sake?

Please try to think from our shoes -- if we allowed every country to register (as we have in the past, minus those who we cannot legally offer service to), we get hundreds of signups (if not thousands) per day. The amount of staff needed to police all of that would be prohibitively expensive for a free service. In addition, the more abuse on our servers, the slower the servers get for everyone else, which negatively impacts even those who do not abuse the service.

By blocking countries which constitute the most abuse, we can offer better service to those that are less likely to abuse the services. This policy is not open for debate and as such I'm closing this thread.
