Child site?

Hi all ! I am new here and I am trying to do something:
I want to create a small website for my 8 years old daughter.
She surf on the famous disney and other kids sites around.And I have Child Control on the home computer.
What is your advice on what features I should add with the auto installer and what safety measures I should take.
I was thinking on a small blog but there is maybe some other features ready for kids?Maybe a small forum?
What are the simplier and more fun for childrens

If you integrate a blog or forum into your website, you have to bring other users to the blog or forum, or else your daughter will be the only one there, and she'll basically be commenting or posting and talking to herself.

However, bringing other people into the forum also causes a minor problem, as once others enter the picture, you can't guarantee a family-friendly site.

Forum for kids...? am not sure if it would work well for kids.
But i have the following suggestions for your site.
1) Make some funny puzzle games for kids
2)Collection of Nursery Rhymes
3)collection of Stories.
