cleanURL in drupal

I am using the free hosting service from x10hosting. the last time i visited my site, clean URL was accept and running in my drupal site, but today the cleanURL feature does not seem to work. By cleanURL we mean using http://www.example.com/node/83 as the address rather than http://www.example.com/?q=node/83.

Is cleanURL option removed from free hosting service or is it just a glitch??

make sure it is enabled in the drupal configuration, and check that the .htaccess file exists. No server changes should have changed that option.

i cannot enable the cleanURL setting in my site, it says that the server does not support it, and yes there is a .htaccess file in my drupal site...

Make sure the following is in your .htaccess file:

AllowOverride All
