Thank you for your comments guys and I see what you mean! My computer resolution is set at 1280 by 1024 and I have added vertical centering to my CSS. At lower screen resolutions, the design of my index page is significantly compromised. I will do my best to resolve this and thanks again for your feedback...

A better resolution solution?

Hi all,

Just wanted to touch base and get some more opinions regarding my revised index page. I think this is a much better solution to what I showed you guys previously as I have tested my page at different resolutions. Also, I was hoping to get a few comments regarding my "flash" intro and the sounds I have added to my page. Do you think I should further optimise my flash movie or add a preloader to it? I get different results to what I intended every time I refresh the page.

It's not always the best idea to limit your users by their screen resolution, and it's an even worse idea to suggest IE to them. Try using screen percentages for your height and width, that way it will always look good.

My screen is 1280.1024 and it looks great. I think that tiled background could use a bit of work though.

Thanks for your responses guys! I honestly do appreciate it. In regards to screen percentages, can you recommend some tutorial sites that might help me with the coding for this? I would love to learn more about this. Also, I suppose my tiled background might not be to everyone's taste but I am attempting to give my site a sort of "Western Surf" or "Aloha Ranch" feel to it. Bad is sometimes good and please let me know if I have achieved this style for my site.

Hi again and thanks to all x10hosting members who have viewed my site! I am writing to you again to get some feedback on some of the content of my site such as my art galleries in the "galleries" section of my site. Also, I have just included some content in the "freeware" section of my site and will be uploading more material in the very near future. I'd love to hear what you think and will keep you informed about the progress of my site.

the site is nice. there is just 2 things that get me.

1. the orange scroller. to me... it just doesn't fit with the color scheme. you should make the track white too *blue is too bright and way different then all the other blue shades your useing.

2. the homepage images.. the clown and enter buttons. After viewing your art work it doesn't mesh with the rest of your images. I think you can do better then the clown.. on a personal note, drop the pink for enter lol.. but thats just my homophobic side talking.


**your aloha gallery doesn't work. i only see that first image and a back button. thats it. the other gallery worked just fine.

Velvet Aloha Gallery

Thank you for your feedback gster1984! I do appreciate it because it helps me see the flaws I need to improve upon. In relation to my "galleries" section, the biggest design flaw seems to be that no one is really reading the disclaimer notice on the intro page for my "Velvet Aloha" gallery. As a result, viewers may become impatient and just go back to the index page of my site.

The idea behind the intro page was to warn viewers that the content of this gallery might be a bit risque for them (it is art, people...not porn). The page is to be automatically redirected in 15 seconds to the gallery page of "Velvet Aloha". This should be sufficient time for someone to read the disclaimer and wait for the content to be loaded. It appears that this is not happening and I should resolve this dilemna. To view my gallery, please click here and let me know what you think. I will also keep you guys posted on the progress of my site.

it fits on my monitor ... i notice the link back to the index was at the bottom part... maybe you can put it on a place that user can see always, and add the other navigation for easy browsing...
