When I try to connect to a remote mysql server, I get "Access Denied" error, but I'm sure the login credentials are correct. Is this because all mysql requests are forwarded to the x10 MySQL server?

No, I'm trying to connect to a mysql server that's NOT x10. I don't know what's wrong, but there's something that won't work.

Have you added the IP/hostname in cPanel > Remote servers ?
I'm not sure about this, but the IP may need to be added to x10 firewall. Better wait for Corey to answer this.

Probably...I've had experience with this before.

Anyway, let's just wait on Corey's word.
