Connection could not be established with host smtp gmail com [Connection timed out #110]

Hey everyone,

Im new to trying out free hosting, so Im looking for some advise. Im using swiftmailer to send out email from my gmail account and I got this error Connection could not be established with host smtp(dot)gmail(dot)com [Connection timed out #110]. It seems like the connection cannot be established. Anyone knows why? Is port 465 open for free hosting users? What should I do?

So if I want to use swiftmailer, I will have to set up an email address through X10's cPanel and and use it to send mail? Or is swiftmailer not supported at all

Hi,

Yes, you would need to send your email through an email present on your x10Hosting account. You do not need to use SMTP though; using PHP's built-in mail() function will work for sending emails.
