Connection times out to GMail

Your configuration is probably wrong. On your error page image in the other thread it says there is a problem with the url which is:

ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465

also try it without anything and just smtp.gmail.com:465? I'm not sure how SMF processes it.

(double check to make sure your pop settings in gmail are on too)

Settings double checked on both Gmail and SMF.

"ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465" won't work since SMF gives a different field for the port and the server address.

Trying without anything but the server address and port? Nope. How in the world would it authenticate and have access to the Gmail account?
