Consistent Disconnects Via FTP

I am using Filezilla to connect via FTP. Here are my settings:

Host: stoufferalumni.x10hosting.com
Servertype: FTP
Logontype: Normal
and my username (manogame) and pass

When I queue large transfers (many files at a time) the connection is eventually disconnected with this error.

Status: Resolving IP-Address for stoufferalumni.x10hosting.com
Status: Connecting to 74.86.240.236:21...
Error: Could not connect to server

I'm only using one connection at a time (one transfer at a time) and I'm still getting this error.

How do I resolve this?

EDIT: FTP is now back but I'd like to know why it keeps doing this.

Please be sure filezilla isnt using multiple streams to transfer your single file (which it does by default) as this will cause the problem.

Edit - Settings - File transfer settings - uncheck Use multiple connections to transfer files
