Cossacks Reliabilty

I understand that I have a Free Hosting Package, and being a free package I should not expect the reliability and features of a Paid Hosting account.

However, this has been a continuous issue since the day I opened my account, and things have not gotten better.

I am hosted on the Cossacks Server. During website construction and during regular usage... the server repeatedly becomes unavailable.

When I check the service status on my account page, I will see issues such as server load at 337.34... Really, how is that even possible? I see messages on this forum indicating that you are consolidating servers because of Underutilization and this server shows a load of 337.34?

Quite often when I check service status, besides the load being so high, I will see that Apache is down, or SQL is down. During these tomes... my site is completely unaccessible. I am becoming disappointed in the reliability and am hesitant to consider paid hosting here. This particular site is basically a testing ground that I host a gaming forum on. But with this type of reliability I am prompted to search elsewhere when the time comes to open a paid hosting site.

Can anyone tell me what the issue is with this server? Or possible give me an update on a resolution?

The problem is that since these are free servers, there are globally more users on it than our paid servers. Now with free hosting, you have people who want to abuse the service, and since Cossacks is the server currently receiving the new adfree account sign ups, there may be some abuse we don't catch on it that will make some users experience slight problems with there site. I just took care of a problem about 10 minutes ago on this server, and brought the load back down to a more stable number. I mean once this server fills up and we switch the sign ups to another server you'll see a big performance increase, as it doesn't use as much resources as it's not creating the accounts, DNS zones, restarting services constantly. I mean I summed up the load problems, but if I missed anything don't hesitate to contact me or reply to this thread.

Now with your query about our paid hosting, it's a lot faster than our free hosting servers for a few reasons. First, there merely isn't as many accounts on our paid servers as free, if you are interested in exact account numbers for comparison feel free to send me a private message. Second, there is no abuse, or very little if something gets by us but it's hard, on the paid servers as you need to pay, people who abuse the services don't want to pay, they want free hosting in most cases, which is why you experience slight slow ups in your site. Normally we take care of those problems ASAP, and support on paid is much faster in most cases, as paid has there own client\ticket center, and all of the administrators are e-mailed of problems with the paid servers to fix them. If you ask any paid user we have you'll see no problems with uptime or support, as well with most free users, our support is unmatched in the industry.
