Re: counter-strike server files

the hl2dsupdate.exe or whatever is on my little post will download the files for you.

and to UN-VAC secure it you get rid of the -secure in the command line.

hope this helps... myabe i'll try to find the original source of my post, was a while ago when i was working on x10gaming.

Re: counter-strike server files

i set it up with the help of a guide, which i cant find right now...

if you download steam, then make a steam account, you can login to steam and you will see a counter-strike source dedicated server "program" you can download. I'd say the easiest way for you is to do that, then once it is finished downloading (its free you dont need to use a version of steam with counter-strike source on it) and then you "run" the dedicated server and it will ask you to setup the server, its all in a UI.

Re: counter-strike server files

The best website for this is www.srcds.com they provide handy tips and guides for both linux and windows. I also run a dedicated server for a clan i am in and make sure its running smoothly, so if you need any help - i'm around too.

Re: counter-strike server files

dark think you can set up a server for me when you get the guide or when you get a chance becuase the "steam deciated server" ive used before and when i close my computer the server closes and i dont have a "static ip" so i have to have a new ip everytime i make one and i cant get AMX or admin mod on the STEAM deciated server and i cant get maps in it ethier think you can tell me how to so that like put fy_poolday in instead of using the STOCK cs and de mapsz? and its for cs 1.6 not cs:s

Re: counter-strike server files

well if i wasnt busy i would, but i am busy with x10 (and a project i am doing for school) atm, i did use www.srcds.com for tutorials too, they are great. as for a static ip, you might want one to host a server otherwise it'll be.... a pain...
