Cpanel doesn't open

After logging in, on clicking the Open Cpanel button, I just get an error message which when expanded reveals the text below. Looks like something may have become corrupted, and Cpanel no longer works. I need help!

Further information - after clicking Cpanel button the error message seen is:
"A fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive."
