Cpanel Extracting

i found that cpanel is extracting tar.gz files which outputs files with different permissions, sometimes even files are not extracted out. e107 0.7.2.tar.gz will be extracted out but with some files missing.

Is it the packaging fault? or the server fault?

Probably a packaging fault.. try extracting it on your computer first and see if the files that are missing on the server are present, if so then you might have to upload all the files instead of having them be extracted on the server (I don't know what would cause this problem though).

Its neither. The tarball remembers all the permissions of the host sytem it was created on and that can cause some strange problems.

Like Vyriix try extract the files on your computer also instead of uploading all the files you can create an archive zip|tarball|gunzip|bzipon your pc and upload that.
