I'm using the FREE x10hosting.com account for my web design class, and having problems accessing the cPanel login URL from my Campus. (due to corporate firewall restrictions)

http://lotus.x10hosting.com:2082

Is there an alternate link that I can use to bypass port 2082? I'd rather not use a proxy, so I'm hoping someone could provide insight to this.

Thanks for your consideration. -digitalphil@att.net

The CPanel only listens on port 2082. Unfortunately, this means the only way you can get to it from there is through a proxy, unless of course, you can convince your IT department to open the port. Good luck honestly, but it's technically possible.

There isn't really any alternative link to getting access to cPanel, as all of the Alternate links I know of all point to Port 2082. Someone else here might know of one that doesn't. You'll need to talk to IT about allowing communication over Port 2082 via TCP.

I think I got the answer, I got a bit of software that you install, but I don't think you can use it on x10's server, it a CPanel proxy. I used it on one of my paid hosting (outside of x10) and it work just fine for me.

I gave him a proxy to use via IRC which he is using to get access to cPanel.

Try this: http://lotus.x10hosting.com/cpanel or http://digitalphil.x10hosting.com/cpanel

I've heard of people using that to get by university restrictions, but corporate filters might be more advanced.
