Hello

May be, it's not the good location...

I've a problem in the file manager of cPanel with a text file (named "à_faire.txt") I created and I don't need anymore.

I select it, and then clic "delete file". The systeme ask me confirmation, of course, I answer "Yes". The list is refreshed and doesn't contain the "à_faire.txt"... but when I close and open again the file manager, the "à_faire.txt" is always here !!! It is not dead and has a real content ! I don't know how to suppress it for never !

I've tried that several times, on differents dates !

Does someone can help me ?

Thank you.

Can you confirm the file existence with legacy file manager.

Means
Open legacy file manager and check the file is there or not? If there try to delete it. And post here.

One more thing Clear your browser cache and try to open file manager.

Maybe it's not a good idea to use accented characters
(like "à") in file names on an UNIX-like system. French is my first
language too, but I avoid doing it, afraid of strange
side effects...

Maybe try renaming it first without the accented character and then deleting it?

If that doesn't work, maybe a perl (not sure how good PHP is on 'odd' characters) script that unlinks (deletes) the file?

Another option is to try using an FTP client to delete it.

OK, it works : I've deleted it in legacy file manager, and now, it does not exist nor in lecagy, nor in "ordinary" file manager. Thanks, Gsonline

You are right, it's wasn't a good idea, in fact, i've uploaded it with other files, but it was an error !

Sorry, I can't test the rename, having read your answer too late !

Thanks to all three.
