This has been something going on since the cPanel issues we had a few weeks ago that caused Corey to downgrade it. I reported this a while ago so it'll need to be fixed in the theme at a minimum.
You can use Softaculous for installing scripts on your site. I used it a few times on mine when experimenting with different scripts and they say it has more options that Fantastico.
