A little question - can i use cron jobs with a free account?

Yes.
You can set them up via the cPanel.
Note: You cannot have cron jobs going off less than 5 minutes apart.
1. Each single cron job must run 5 or minutes apart.
2. If you have two jobs going off every hour, set one to the hour and one to ten after.
