The B.E.S.T. pc shooter of all time coming out this week. I think it is too consuming in terms of hardware requirements but its worth it. its got so many different things to do and yet so complicated. well we gotta wait to see how much it really tells from those trailers

It's a shame that it's not hitting consoles first. It is way too consuming for computer hardware, and is definitely not worth $1000+ to play a game that's $40 bucks. I'm starting to see a much greater advantage in purchasing a console than keeping a computer up to date..

Yeah, I agree. Not everyone can keep up to date on the technology right now since it's changing so fast & the prices keep changing.

PCs are better than consoles for some games, and vice versa. It's not practical to sit in a huge reclinable leather chair in front of a massive TV screen with a keyboard and mouse :p

And racing games are better with a controller than a keyboard/mouse, even better with a steering wheel but noone seems to be making those anymore.

WEll, Crisis can run on a 8800GT, which is only 200-250. And most new computers have the requires Processor speed anyway, so All that's really needed is a Graphics Card.

Cory, you are 100% right, PC's < Consoles

Blazer, I am pretty sure Cory said "PCs > Consoles!!!!", which would be the oppisite of what you posted...

To basically state the obvious here, consoles are better for games than PCs. Now, before anyone tries to throw out any 'valid' points, remember a few things. Consoles are designed for one purpose, gaming. Consoles are made with top of the line hardware that is all dedicated to running one game, and nothing else. When you play on a console, you can simply insert a disc and play the entire game with NO installation or copying of files. Everything runs straight off a disc and in most cases smoother than a PC would(simply b/c the console is running one thing, that game). There is no way around it, Consoles were designed for games and have succeded in being better for gaming.

Now, PCs don't suck for gaming in any sense. But the thing is, since PCs are designed to do a whole lot more, they are much more expensive. It it almost like buying a console that also comes with a bunch of computing technologies for programs and applications and driver support for extra hardware and internet capabilites(for browsing b/c new consoles support internet too), etc. PCs can easily be for gaming and for the most part, are a lot of the time, but that is not the only thing they are for, and so they don't always preform as well as a console would with running high end games.

The big thing is, and this has been brought up, consoles don't need upgrades. They are set up like a power PC from the start and everything is dedicated to running one game. PCs are made with parts that might not be as good b/c there is a lot more to a PC than games, and they can't simply focus on building a machine for only games and nothing else(even gaming PCs are designed with all the computing functionality in mind).

What I can't wait for is a console that is upgradable, like a PC. Now that will be awesome. Add more RAM, more HD space, better graphics card, even buy a faster processor. That would be sweet and you all know it. Then who could argue that PCs are better for games than consoles?

Hey, wait?! isn't this about 'Crysis'? Man, I sure wish I could play it. Looks super awesome. I also wish I could play Call of Duty 4... In fact, I really wish I could play any new game. Just gotta get a new PC really(been wanting one anyways). Not having dual-core is killing me, and I'm just under the RAM. Plus my video card(even with it's 512 MB RAM) needs to be upgraded as well.

OH, and here's a lovely site: http://systemrequirementslab.com/
