cURL not working?

Before the move from boru to level, it worked fine. After the move to level I get this error:

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when safe_mode is enabled or an open_basedir is set

I have changed nothing to make it error either.

EDIT:
I change my website so it doesn't use cURL, but this is still an issue that I believe is caused by php's safemode.
