Default Email Account (Catch-All)

Hello and thanks for the free hosting. My default email account (mbeanx) is not capturing *@tigertek.co.cc. I also noticed that their is no icon in cpanel for the Defaukt Account settings. Did I miss something or is it simply not enabled for FREE accounts?

Have you tried messing with the MX entry?

Sure, I took a look and chose local. DNS seems to be ok. It's off site but everything resolves. What MX setting do you sugest I mess with. BTW, Thanks for the quick reply. I think I like it here already. :happysad:

Well when you click it in cpanel there should already be one there....if there isn't, that may be the problem. :). If possible, please post a screenshot. :)

I checked and the MX entry is there. i've switched DNS back over to x10 nameservers. I'm going to wait the 48 hours or so and see if that fixes things.

While I was checking the mx records I noticed that the default email account is not even shown in cpanel under email accounts. curious?

Anyhow I'll wait the 2 days for the NS change and post back. Thanks for your help thus far.

Ok everything DNS wise is ok. My accounts default email is still not capturing unknown@tigertek.co.cc see below:

  Probably mail server does not accept mail for tigertek.co.cc (received status 550)
  Some of your MX do not work properly.

Have you tried to add an MX record for it?

I don't think X10 allows catchall addresses, i.e. the *@domain address is taken literally, and don't take all emails. Just to make sure the domain is set up correctly make a test email account, e.g. test@domain to see whether that receives emails, if this works, then catchall is disabled, if it doesn't, you need to sort out mail server settings first.

The checkdns thing isn't something to worry about: that simply tests whether you have any default email addresses set up such as postmaster, root, info, webmaster, which aren't set up at X10 by default, and I doubt you created yourself.

//Edit: you can use catchall: log into cpanel, then go to the following address:
http://starka.x10hosting.com:2082/frontend/x3/mail/def.html
(replace starka with your server name)
This lets you access catchall settings.

Ok than you all. So as it turns out x10 does not offer a default email account. Makes perfect sense now thanks for your help.
