Difficulty with first page

Hey Everyone!

Right ive been working on this for some time now and looks like ive hit a dead end. I'm brand new to making a webpage so if im missing something obvious tell me XD

Ive finally reached the point where I have my domain linked to this webhost, have an ftp account setup (which successfully links to my files). The ftp client im using is called Kompozer.

Ive been trying to upload my first page so I can start making some headway... something very simple like a little text document. Ive called it index.html and put it in the public_html folder but nothing appears to happen to my front page.

Also, at the moment my page says "Enter any domain or URL(include the http://)" with a little box under it to write in (which seems to do nothing). Is like a default page before youve added anything to the website perhaps?

Anyway, my question is why anything I add wont show up. Im sure its something easy

hahaha, thats fantastic. Yeah thats my webpage alright... can you tell im frustrated? Interesting my web browser is still not showing it.

Will try flushing the cache and resetting my internet browsers to try and get it to appear.
