Directory symlink

Is there any way to create symlynks in File Manager (or any different way) like "www" directory points to "public_html"? :happysad:

I want to create symlinks for http://mito.exofire.net/en/ and http://mito.exofire.net/ru/ to point to root html directory (http://mito.exofire.net/). Is it possible?

I just checked out your public_html directory and I don't see the directories "en" and "ru." Do you have them made and it's just me, or what?

Bryon, what is better way for you? It's not so hard to make them by me. But I thought theyy must not be created for you be able to create symlinks wich same names.

My English is not perfect, sorry. May be it would be better if I explain what I want.
I want that every file http://mito.exofire.net/some_file.php, http://mito.exofire.net/some_folder/some_file.php will be accessable through http://mito.exofire.net/en/some_file.php, http://mito.exofire.net/en/some_folder/some_file.php and http://mito.exofire.net/ru/some_file.php, http://mito.exofire.net/ru/some_folder/some_file.php

Sounds like you need mod_rewrite

Im not the expert though, better ask someone who is

May be this is exactly what I need. Can some one help with .htaccess directives for this case? mod_rewrite is not so easy to understand

Question to admins: is this module enabled on the server?

I'm pretty sure symlinks would work for you, MiSHuTka.

Want me to create them? They can always be removed if they don't work.

.htaccess works fine, I don't believe however that this could be done with one.

Corey or I would have to make the symlinks for you though in SSH.

I've made some experiments and it seems that I can create this symlinks just with PHP symlink() function. So thank you all for help and for answers! The problem is solved now!

I've create this symlinks today's morning (by my clock, I'm at GMT+2 :happysad: ) and they seem to work perfect. Some PHP coding and I have a great multilanguage pages. You can see like it looks at http://mito.exofire.net
