disable directory browsing

Stupid question but I can't find out how to disable directory browsing...is this possible and how?

I've searched for "directory browsing" in the kb with no joy.

Add this to your .htaccess file in that directory.

Options -Indexes

that will give them the message

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /directory/ on this server.

Note: This will do for every sub-directory in the directory that you place the code in.

Or, you can login to cPanel and click on "Index Manager" near the bottom..
