I added (via CPanel) an Addon domain (http://13juni2015.nl) to my account (jetjesstrijk.x10.mx). At the registrar I used the IP address of the nameserver 198.91.80.2 (https://x10hosting.com/wiki/Nameservers).

I expect to get the same page as http://13juni2015.jetjesstrijk.x10.mx/ (password protected landing page while in beta). When visiting the domain I get however an error / landing page:

SORRY!
If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: webmaster[ATSIGN]13juni2015.nl
It is possible you have reached this page because:...

When I change the url to http://13juni2015.nl/index.php I get a 404 error of x10Hosting (on which basis it appears to me that the DNS part is working).

Can you please advise on what else I should do?

Thanks for your reply samurais. Can you also tell me which settings may not be right? In my post I stipulated all settings I did.

Hi,

At the registrar I used the IP address of the nameserver 198.91.80.2
Put the DNS name, not the IP, in the case of IP change, nameserver will redirect to the new IP.

nameserv1; ns1.x10hosting.com
nameserv2; ns2.x10hosting.com

hope this help you :)

THank you Patrick.B, but unfortunately my registrar only allows IP numbers (or I am looking wrong :))

It's strange, in a regular time, all host compagny can let you put a "normal" nameserver, sound like any dns name ..

Wich compagny you have register domain ?

Can you try adding the IP 108.178.57.230 to the second column (where ns2 is supposed to be)? Maybe it just needs both for a better chance to get a hit.
The IP 198.91.81.3 in the browser is returning a 500 internal server error.
After checking my add-on domain here, it seems to be using the second name server IP, so I would suggest using that as well.

@all: my problem has been solved thanks to @AngusThermopyle
@Patrick.B : my registerar is www.strato.nl, at their admin panel I can choose between the folling options
A-RecordI used this one
AAAA-Record ipv6
MX-Record mail ony
SPF- en TXT-record mail related
SRV-Record tell which services
Dynamic DNS (niet actief) I understand this is for linking the domain to your own computerp
I now understand that there is a difference between changing the nameserver (for which I cannot find an option) and using an A-record (which should point to the server IP).
