Theres a lot of arguments about who invented the first computer. Many believe that Alexander Grahm Bell invented the first computer. But when I've done my research I think that Conrad Zuse invented the first computer. The first computer use punch tape and could only do calculations. Soon there after it was was able to hold words. But if you really wanna get down to it, the first computer invented was the abacus. The abacus was a series of poles upon which beads slid up or down.

I guess the word computer can be split up between computer (which is quite general) and modern computer which is what we use now. It was Alexander Gram Bell who invented, or improved the computer to modern standards. That computer was huge!

Well, the whole thing kind of depends on what you say the definition of a "Computer" may be. A computer can be a PC, or it can be as something simple such as an Abiscus (sp?) or even simpler.
