I agree with tnl2k7, its illegal, even if you are just changing the width and height of the program. If adobe finds out you're modifying their program, it could mean trouble.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who think it's okay to spread misinformation like this.Decompiling SWFs that you don't own is illegal. It's piracy, whichever way you look at it.
This sounds incredibly like it needs closing to be honest, I highly doubt this is for the right reasons.

You can only steal items that are tangible. If this file is illegal to be shared, then it's simply copyright infringement. Why don't you create your own version of FlashDVD.swf? Apparently you have Flash so make your own instead of stealing someone else's work illegally.
There is no law against cheating in a game but there is a law against copyright infringement.I'm amazed at the amount of people who think it's okay to spread misinformation like this.
Piracy (in the technology-related sense) is illegal filesharing (downloading or uploading material you don't have the right to download or upload).
I've downloaded the file in question and it seems to be a Flash movie player. As long as he didn't download this illegally, it is not piracy. In addition, modifying it is not piracy and it is not illegal. The most it could be a violation of the program's license agreement. There isn't a law saying you cannot decompile a SWF.

If you're a gamer, think of it this way: The game's license agreement says you can't cheat, but when people cheat they aren't breaking the law, only the license agreement.

Why don't you contact Adobe and ask for the FLA of FlashDVD.swf?
Give them your credentials and proof that you bought their software and I'm sure they'll consider giving it out.
