In my opinion, softalicious is rubbish anyway. It messes about with the files. If you ask for support for a softalicious installed phpBB installation at phpbb.com they send you away, it causes that many errors. Always install manually.

If you wish to do a manual install, (not very difficult), go HERE , read up, and then download and install.

Alternately, just use fantastico!

Manual installs are better as they give you more options.
I have a phpBB forum installed on x10 (manually) that works great. Just visit the phpBB website like carl6969 suggested. :)

I recently installed PhpBB using softalicious. It is working fine but when i installed mobile plugin of phpbb (mophpbb), I am getting empty response at mysite.com/mo.
Main installation is working fine.I did everything what was written in readme. So I can't say whether auto Install is good or not.But it just helps you test a taste a software faster than manual installation.
