domain name resolves to subdomain

I opened my account under southwoodband.pcriot.com and then decided I was just being stingy and paid for the domain name southwoodband.com. I updated my nameserver settings at the registrar and also in my account panel. I entered southwoodband.com as a parked domain in cpanel.

The acount settings show my primary domain is www.southwoodband.com. However, cpanel shows that my main domain is southwoodband.pcriot.com. I can't find any option to change it. Consequently, when one enters southwoodband.com, it resolves to southwoodband.pcriot.com

How do I fix this?

You will need to add it as an AddOn Domain inside CPanel.

Remove it from the parked domains, then add to AddOn Domains...

That should fix the problem.

I went in and removed the parked domain. Shortly after that, my main domain in cpanel changed to www.southwoodband.com. When I did the addon domain it said "you cannot park your main domain." OK.

Now whenever I try to go to southwoodband.com in the browser, it still resolves to southwoodband.pcriot.com and now instead of my site, I get a message saying the apache server is working. What am I doing wrong?

OK, this is getting frustrating now. I decided to try to change the subdomain to southwoodband.x10hosting.com. Sure enough, that resolved to southwoodband.pcriot.com. The cpanel still showed everything set up to www.southwoodband.com.

I'm wondering if I just need to back up my site, delete the account and sign up all over again with the domain name from the beginning. Any suggestions would be appreciated. There's probably something obvious somewhere that I'm missing, but I just don't see it.

Ok the best thing for you to do is to remove the domain www.southwoodband.com completely frok cpanel. By that I mean don't have it added as a parked doain or addon domain. Then go to your AMP located at http://x10hosting.com/account and change your main domain to www.southwoodband.com.

I did that last night and it still does this. I'm at work and behind a firewall, so I can't access cpanel right now, but unless things have changed since this morning, the only reference to www.southwoodband.com in cpanel was the status bar on the left that lists www.southwoodband.com as the main domain. The account manager panel I can access now and it shows www.southwoodband.com as my primary domain.

There is no trace of southwoodband.pcriot left on my account - not in the account panel and not in cpanel. There is nothing in the parked domain and nothing in the addon domain. Cpanel and account manager show my primary domain is www.southwoodband.com. No other domain is listed anywhere. Yet somehow, any time you go to southwoodband.com, you're redirected to southwoodband.pcriot.com. This is not coming from the registrar, I checked. It even redirects to pcriot whenever logging in via ftp.

Is there just some sort of obvious setting somewhere that I'm missing?

I had my brother look at it for me and the problem was with entries I had in the mysql database. Issue is resolved. Please close the thread.
