Hello,
I have just purchased a website after finishing the creation on the subdomain provided by x10. I would now like to use the domain name that I have purchased instead of the subdomain. How would I do this?

Thanks for the reply.
Would I be permitted to delete this website and remake it again with the real domain as domain parking doesn't suit my needs and I didn't really plan for the future too well.

Hi,

Your account's main domain must be an x10Hosting subdomain, so you would need to add your domain as a Parked Domain. This is where your domain displays exactly the same content as your x10host.com subdomain, which points at "public_html". Your website visitors will not see your "x10host.com" domain (so there are no nasty redirects), and your parked domain would behave the same as a main domain would. It's very common for people to want to use their own domain, and adding it as a Parked Domain (after setting our nameservers) is usually the best option.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

Hi thanks for the reply, when I add the parked domain however, it only applies to the home page meaning that I would have to change all the links in the website

you could add your own domain as a [ addon domain ] to your account - it would have its own Web page

you can not delete your x10hosting's free-hosting account's domain

Hi,

That's being caused by the site URL in your WordPress configuration. Please change the "site URL" to your new domain name in your WordPress settings, and then check again. ;)

WordPress have a helpful article on changing your site URL here:

Thank you,

Hi, thanks for the replies, the solution provided by Dead-i did the trick. Thank the lord for wordpress! Would this cause any problems down the line or should this be all I need for the website to continue functioning smoothly?

Hi,

Everything looks good here! You shouldn't need to do anything else now. ;)

Thank you,
