Hello,

I have a domain, the address "example.com" works, but not "www.example.com".
The domain is registered with a third party and points to "ns1.x10hosting.com" and "ns2.x10hosting.com" DNS.

What could I be doing incorrectly as to cause such a problems.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi. I've seen this problem posted some time before, but I'm not sure that the solution ever got posted.

Assuming the DNS has had enough time to propagate from when you set it up (can take 48hrs), it may be down to how you entered your address in cPanel. Is it a parked domain, or a sub-domain?

It may just be down to the current server transfer problems (see Updates, in News section). When they get resolved, you may find it works how you want again.

But I'm really not sure of your solution. So when you get it solved, please post back here so others may learn!

Anyone else who knows the answer to this?

Well, It appears to be working on the 4 computers that I have available to test with. It works with the "www" and w/o the "www." It may have been that I did not give the servers enough time to propagate. However it could have been I switched the "Account Details" on X10hosting's site...to no longer use a subdomain, but rather the real domain I intended to use. But I doubt it.

Other than that, I set the domain as a parked domain and pointed the domain registrar to the aforementioned DNS.

People may find a bit more information on the process, not necessarily my problem though, HERE [I would have found this very useful if I had it found it several years ago, hope it helps the next person]:

Best of Luck!

Thanks for your feedback - nothing conclusive unfortunately because of the variables!

Good luck with your site building. :)
