I got an email saying that my domain registration expired because the card on the account expired so the renewal wasn't processed. I went into the account, updated the card and the renewal date shows at Aug 14th. Now my site is down and I don't know how to get it back up. I would have thought when I updatd the card, everything would have been restored but it's not and I can't figure out what do to.

1. Do I need to connect or re-establish some connection between my domain and x10hosting?
2. I went into cpanel and tried to "publish" but that didn't seem to do anything.
3. I looked in the DNS settings and nothing stood out as incorrect but I don't really know what to look for

Im not even sure if it is a domain issue or a hosting issue or both. Can someone please help!

Thanks

break down your problem, for others to help.
You got an email from who ? The company you registered the domain with?
When you buy a domain its normally or two years or more, so the anniversary of your card expiring shouldn't be the same date
as the anniversary of your domain(unless you got a new shinny card in the past and couldn't wait to use it!)

On the free hosting you dont need a paid for domain because x10host giver you a domain of sorts in my case i did a free
set up using : http://nkran.x10host.com then I pointed my own paid domain http://www.nkran.net to the name servers.

So if your on free you should have an equivalent of my http://nkran.x10host.com.

you can put your paid for domain details in http://whois.net

also put your domain name into http://www.dnswatch.info that will show where the domain is pointing

I got an email from google (my domain is registered through google but my site is hosted by x10) saying that my domain registration expired because the card on the account expired so the renewal wasn't processed. I did not say the card and the domain expired on the same day. The card on the account, that was charged every yaer for auto-renewal, expired so the renewal (which is normally automatic) failed and my registration expired TODAY as evidence by my site being down today.

So, I went into the account, updated the card (same card info but a new expiration date). After updating it, the renewal date shows as Aug 14th. <- Now this is where my confusing starts. Initially the accounted stated TODAY as the domain expiration date and my site is down today but after updating the card on the account, the renewal date states 8/14 so I would have thought that my site would be back up but its not and I don't know why.

Im wondering:

Because my domain registration expired today did that somehow disconnect it from my x10hosting? If so do I need to connect or re-establish some connection between my domain and x10hosting?
Im not even sure if it is a domain issue or a hosting issue or both.

I hope that is a more clear explaination. It's hard to explain when I'm not even sure what the problem is.

Im not interested in a free domain. I am using my paid domain but hosting the site through x10.

Thanks

Check the name servers on the domain name and verify they are the correct name servers.

I guess this is solved now. Sometimes it takes time for the change to spread across the internet. Since the internet is a large network of sorts, it takes time for each server to figure out where to send people.

Don't hijack support threads that don't belong to you. Since the original user's issue is now resolved, this thread is being closed.
