I am 15 and I can't play Skate online even though it is from 12. I called EA yesterday and asked why and they say that because you can buy items for real money from the xbox live marketplace for all EA games they can't allow ppl under 18 to play online, even though the law says ppl under 16 can't buy things on the internet... I want EA to take away this rule because you already need to be 18 to buy things on the marketplace. So I have started a petition here: http://jagf.net/petition/petitionen.php . It would be great if you can sign it.

but even if you cant legally many people will play illegally which undermines the rule

they should just remove the rule because most people will be playing online will be playing illegally because they are under 18

And besides, I don't see Microsoft completely stopping kids from playing on Xbox Live (it's possible with Family Settings, but otherwise they don't seem to have much of a problem with it, except when money's involved). So it's unlikely to stop kids (who probably don't even know what Terms of Service means) playing EA games online.

It isn't illegal to play online if you are under 18... It is illegal to buy things from the marketplace if you are under 18. And because there is optional items for Skate in the marketplace EA has decided to stop all ppl under 18 to play their games.
