Edit template for Joommla

Hello,

I have a website with Joomla 1.5, and I download some templates from internet, but I don't know how o edit them to use them in my site.
With template blogs I used to use frontpage and it was very easy and intuitive, but now with Joomla I don't know what software use...can anybodyt help me?
