I'm trying to set up email forwarding to my .com domain name, sending emails from the address works through gmail but receiving emails only works sometimes, it's really strange.

When I use send-email.org to send to the address it goes to my gmail inbox but if I use hotmail or get someone else to email it doesnt come through, but if I use my gmail address to send to my forwarding address it works too.
