It might be related to the cPanel issues described in the announcement at the top of the Free Hosting forum page. The admins are going to be working hard on that problem for awhile. Hopefully, that will also fix your issue.
If you can still log in to cPanel, one option is to switch to using gmail as your mail host. You can keep any existing e-mail addresses.
