Email not being sent

I recently noticed that the contact form in not being sent to my email address from my website. I checked using a simple php mail script, and that too didn't worked. The mails are being set to be sent to my gmail address.

What could be the issue?

Hello,

For some reason, php mail only works on free if the content type is set to text/plain. Also, there are known issues with free servers delivering mail to GMail and hotmail addresses, as the servers are often blacklisted due to past abuse.
